Everyday is game day in Houston.
Take a "time out" and join us Aug. 8, 2019, for a "3rd quarter" PRSA Houston Diversity Month luncheon featuring representatives from Houston's top sports teams, including the Houston Dynamo and Houston Texans.
Speakers include:

Zac Emmons is in his fourth year as the senior director of communications for the Houston Dynamo, Houston Dash and BBVA Stadium. In that role, he is responsible for coordinating all of the club’s internal and external communications efforts, including earned media and utilization of the club’s owned media platforms. His team is responsible for the day-to-day media responsibilities for two professional teams, the Dynamo’s youth academy, the club’s minor-league affiliate, corporate communications efforts on behalf of club partners, and promoting events held at BBVA Stadium.

Neera Arya
Senior Marketing Coordinator
Houston Texans
Neera Arya is the senior marketing coordinator for the Houston Texans, where she assists with building marketing campaigns, oversees the Latino marketing strategy and builds email communication, which is sent to thousands of fans on a weekly basis. Before working for the Texans, Neera was a content specialist for the Houston Dynamo. She managed the team’s social media profiles and created their first ever-comprehensive Hispanic Heritage Month campaign, which was nominated for an MLS Club Award.
Coming from a diverse background, Ecuadorian and Indian, Neera is committed to diversity and representing women and other minorities in the sports industry. She regularly looks for opportunities to mentor others and strives to help those around her achieve their best possible selves. When she isn’t working at NRG Stadium, Neera enjoys spending time at the park with her two dogs, Bandit and Lola, or curled up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate (even in the summer) with a book and possibly some Takis.

Discussion Moderator Creshema Murray, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Corporate Communication
University of Houston Downtown
Dr. Murray teaches courses in leadership, organizational training & development and destructive organizational communication. Dr. Murray is engaged in two areas of communication research. Her first area of research focuses on the lived experiences of women of color in workplace organizations. The second area focuses on the manner in which organizations foster destructive workplace practices with employees.
During our luncheon, our speakers will share how they approach continuously "winning the hearts" of this city's diverse population in order to maintain strong fan bases for each of their respective teams in the most diverse city in the country. Be prepared for an open and honest conversation with lots of great takeaways for all communicators engaging with multicultural audiences.
You don't want to miss it.
