As PR pros, we often stick to our lane. Craft the strategy for each campaign with the senior leadership and communications team of our non-profit or client. Research. Execute. Collect data on results.

One missing link in this cycle is ground-truthing the experiences of the communities served by the non-profit. In healthcare it might be, what is keeping lower income patients from seeking care? For the arts, how do we reach communities who perhaps haven’t been engaged with before to make our offering accessible?

The stories and contacts of the community engagement manager is often a goldmine of stories and potential storytellers who you can invite to share their story with the media. To tell the bigger story of your impact on all Houstonians.

This two-person panel will address the community engagement side from the perspective of the beloved brand MFAH. From the PR agency side, finding meaningful community partnerships that engage with target audiences and for success working with the media.

Key Takeaways:

  • Nonprofit PR
  • Community engagement
  • Brand awareness
